Why do some citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Hong Kong, Israel, Bosnia,?

I don't know what motivates people from countries other than Argentina to use their foreign passports when going through immigration checkpoints. In the case of Argentina, several (not all) do it to avoid a record in their travel history, in connection with the National Tax Authority, called IRS in the United States | AFIP in Argentina. So there are different motivations for doing it, as follows: To hide a repetitive travel pattern that suggests undeclared business activities abroad. (i.e. 35 trips from Argentina to Uruguay in a single year, 2016) To hide the expenses involved in a trip abroad, particularly if the person cannot demonstrate income or patrimony consistent with such said trip expenses during successive fiscal periods. For trivial reasons like playing fancy, thing that is quite common among my compatriots For this to work, the person must leave the Country with their foreign passport as well as enter their destination with that same foreign passport. If the person is smart enough, they will also use a credit card linked to an overseas bank account to wage the trip expenses, avoiding leaving a trace (not everyone is smart enough) There was a case of a public employee (working in what I call the State Corporation, a heaven to some) who had been living in the US for freaking 7 years, but still receiving her full state-employee salary, can you believe that? Era empleada estatal en Mendoza pero viva en Miami But all of that is getting outdated, as it has become a standard practice when going through the immigration counter, the person must show a passport that is consistent with their legal place of residence (i.e. a person who has a EU passport but lacks of a proper a "City Register" in Europe will have to check and get stamped his natural passport) For the record, I only have the Argentine passport (my ancestors on my father's side rooted in San Luis, Argentina, more than a century ago), I live 100% on the private sector and I have my tax return payments up to date ...! \_()_/ Best!
