What would happen if I cross to Canada from the US through one of the?
The other answers are great, you should read them. Let me address one particular question, what would happen? Initially, almost nothing. If you crossed from one remote area to the other, its unlikely you would be discovered. But, seriously, this is surprisingly hard. Its days and days of travel to get to the US side of the border. And then you cross, and you are seriously in the middle of nowhere. Youre not going to be catching an Uber. And lets suppose that you solve all of these problems, maybe you get a buddy to drive the 6 or 8 hour round trip to pick you up. Then what? If you got into the USA on a visa, its unlikely you are a refugee. So you are now in Canada, with no job, no money, no health care, no way to get back into the country, and no papers. Youre basically screwed. And you know what? We count on that. Youre going to figure out you are screwed, all on your own, and youre going to head on home. We call this self-deportation, and it does not cost us a dime. Dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! PS Readers might want to reflect on why this same thing does not happen in the USA.
