Do you need a passport to go to Canada on a cruise ship?
Answer: Yes! I very much hope that the question was in regard to just a day cruise and not a week-long or longer cruise. Unfortunately, you do need the appropriate documentation (a passport) for Canada even if you're only over there for 48 hours. Based on our own experience, we had to inform several guests who were going on a day trip across the border with Caribbean Dream about this requirement before they left France disembarking at Riviera Beach in Virginia USA. I would recommend contacting your local consulate office for cross-referencing purposes. They should have an up-to-date answer of what's appropriate for transiting
