Can I study in Canada with the eTA on my Malta passport?
No. An eTA only allows you to be in-transit through Canada, not to stay. To study in Canada, you need to obtain a study permit. This allows you to enter Canada and stay for the duration of your studies. Details on how to apply and the requirements are on the Immigration Canada website. (Warning - it is not cheap!) Study in Canada as an international student Basic requirements are being accepted as a student in a designated post-secondary institution and having enough money in hand to pay course fees and living costs for at least the first year of your program.
