Can I enter Canada with a new passport and an invalid old passport?
Before you are issued a new passport your old passport will be cancelled and hole punched or all the corners of the passport are cut indication of cancelled passport. To be safe please contact Canadian Consulate and inform them that you are now in possession of new passport. The Canadian student visa issued is now in old cancelled passport so what can be done now? You must obtain the ruling from Canadian Consulate before you undertake your journey to enter Canada. Good luck.
