What would be the first steps for a dual US?

You literally just need to move like you would to any place in the US. But go find a job first. The Canadian job market is tough if you don't have the mythical Canadian experience. You won't have health care for the first few months, so your employer would need to provide it or you might have to pay for a private policy. There's also a bit of paperwork to be done around importing your personal effects. Banks like RBC operate on both sides of the border, so you can move your money for no charge between your accounts in the two countries. Also, you won't have a credit history in Canada, but banks that operate on both sides will help clients with getting their first Canadian credit card. That's it, really. I wish I were moving back to Canada!
