What is the procedure for a person whose PR case is in process, and?

I have been in the same situation and its pretty much straightforward process. Once you get an email on your PR approval, you will be asked in the same mail to send photo and passport to Ottawa where they will paste a visa leaf and a PR confirmation letter. It usually takes 4 weeks to get back your passport from Ottawa office. Once you get back your passport and the PR confirmation letter, you need to go to the nearest border( I went to Rainbow bridge, Niagara)and there you need to cross the U.S check point & while crossing the U.S security personnel will ask you the purpose of entering U.S, where you need to say Flagpole or Flagpoling(add if required: like to get my Can PR processed) which means you take a trip around the flagpole and re-enter Canada where you present your documentation at CIC and get the PR physical card processed. I think there is a restriction on the days you could do a flagpoling in few of the borders like for eg: At rainbow bridge they do not entertain flagpoling on Tuesday/Wednesday & Thursday hence take note of the days flagpoling is allowed in each of the US-Canada border. This is the fastest way you could get your PR validated and process your PR card at the same time at CIC office located at US-Canada border. Let me know if you need any more info & hope this helps.
