As with any arriving non resident you will be interviewed by a customs official and based on that interview you will be given a slip with a number on it. You will be directed to luggage retrieval where you will retrieve your luggage and will leave the terminal. Upon leaving the terminal you will give that piece of paper to another customs official. At that time you will either (usual) be directed out of the terminal or subjected to a more intensive interview by customs customs officers. The selection for secondary interview is by a random selection, your history or a hunch by the first officer. No special or favoured nations. Sotheby's story goes.
