You can choose to be known by whatever name you wish. As long as you don't intend to commit a crime by hiding behind what's not your official name on your documents, like fraud, you can do as you wish. I myself use a non-French non-English name in some instances without issue. You do not need to change your name on your official documents to do so. Just be aware that most institutions will still have you filed under your official name, or at least its romanized version.
