Recently I got invitation to apply for permanent residence of Canada?

If you are referring to a patronymic, it (to the best of my knowledge) is not considered to be part of a persons given name and, as such, can be safely omitted. None of my Canadian documents have patronymic on them - including passport and citizenship certificate. If you think about it, it makes sense - the patronymic is simply based on ones fathers given name. That said, the patronymic was mentioned in my old foreign passport, so when I used it to open my first bank account many years ago, they wrote it down and have been attempting to misuse it as my second name since then. Every time I patiently explain this to them, they say Oh, and cross it off - only to do the same thing again two years later. TL;DR: Patronymic is not a given name, or a second name and should not be used as such. Having a discrepancy is not a big deal, but if it makes its way into your Canadian documents, you may have to live with it.
