My pregnant wife and myself applied for a Canada visit visa and we?
It is not illegal to come to Canada for the purposes of having your baby. The Canada Border Service Agency has stated previously that seeking entry to Canada for the sole purpose of having a baby in Canada is not grounds on its own to deny entry. What matters is that you can demonstrate that you have the financial means to pay for the birth in Canada. Because the CBSA will deny entry to those that cannot prove to their satisfaction that they have the ability to pay for the care. If it were me I would get something in writing from my insurance provider stating that you are insured for whatever the costs will be when having a child in Canada. Bottom line is, get hard core proof that you are insured in Canada from your provider and be honest when presenting at a border crossing and tell CBSA agents that you are here to have a baby and that you have ironclad proof that you have the means to pay for it. That is according to CBSA itself and birth tourism is on the rise in Canada so they are not booting pregnant ladies out of Canada and not denying them entry. Look, polls have shown that the majority of Canadians dont dig this birth tourism thing. I am sure that CBSA agents dont like it either. But it is legal and they would be acting illegally if they denied entry. Everyone in Canada hates deadbeats that pop out a kid in Canada and then sneak out of the country and roach on their bill. Get off of Quora and get with your health insurance provider and get some solid proof in writing that they will cover all of your costs in Canada.
