If a person gets a Canada visit visa for 10 years but his passport?
Generally when your passport expires and you get a new one, the old passport is canceled and rendered invalid. This is done in one of two ways, either the cover is cut or they use a press that punches holes through the entire passport and spells cancelled. If they just deface the cover then any included visas are still valid with your new passport. If they press the word through the complete passport then you need to ask them to not cancel the page with your visa on it. You simply present both passports on arrival, it helps to flag the visa page in the old passport, I just use a paperclip. You can usually get a new stamp or insert in your new passport easily, sometimes fir a nominal fee. I will do this to save the hassle of carrying two passports with me. It is common and has never posed a problem for me in the past.
