I am an Indian citizen and I have renewed my passport in New York?
I was in the same situation as you are. I was in Dubai when I had to renew my passport couple of years ago. Earlier this year I decided to apply for Canadian PR and had to get PCC. So when I applied for the same in India, I had to take my new passport to the passport office for verification.
