Does I need to extend my study permit in Canada if I already have?
The validity of your passport is secondary. You HAVE TO HAVE a valid study permit for the school year. Otherwise fraud would be to easy. So to answer your question YES you DO need to extend your study permit. Make sure that you submit all the required documents. IE. your enrollment papers from a valid DLI etc.
