Yes. The days where you could get into the USA with only your birth certificate (if born here) or citizenship card (if naturalized) are long gone. Used to be that you just needed your drivers license and one of the two above documents if you were driving yourself over the border (say to watch the Bills or to watch a hockey game or to fly out from Buffalo to a warm destination). Now, everyone needs a passport to get into the USA. Conversely, US citizens require an American passport to get into Canada.
