Can I travel to Canada with just my citizenship certificate or do I?

After a little reading Guide for Paper Applications for a Citizenship Certificate for Adults and Minors (Proof of Citizenship) under Section 3 (CIT 001) I am giving you my gut belief/feeling, and hopefully others in this situation will provide more insight. The way you ask the question, makes it sound like you are living in another country and have a Canadian citizenship certificate. So, if you are currently living in (for example) France, you might be both a citizen of another country (e.g. France) and also of Canada. Therefore, to travel outside of France or the European Union, you would need your French passport. You would then arrive in Canada and at the airport show your French passport and your Canadian citizenship certificate. Then you would apply for a Canadian passport once you have a place of residence in Canada. However, if you are living in France but are Not a French citizen and you have No passport, then you would contact the Canadian embassy in France and request that they assist you in obtaining a Canadian passport since you have a valid Canadian citizenship certificate. What I stated Should work. However, there may be another path that someone who has gone through the process can write about. NOTE: It never hurts to contact the Canadian embassy in the country in which you currently are living. Good luck.
