US citizens located in Canada may renew their passport books and passport cards by mail, if your current passport(s): Is undamaged and with you, whether it is valid or expired Was issued when you were 16 years or older Was issued within the last 15 years If you changed your name, you have a marriage certificate or court order Was not limited in its validity period for any reason (e.g. less than 5 years) Is a regular tourist (not military or official) passport Fill out and mail the Form DS-82, your passport, and payment via Canada Post to the address stated. Your old and new passport will be mailed back to you in Canada.
